How long have you been a member of AM&AA, and what leadership roles have you held?
I’ve been a member since 2022 and am currently serving as Vice-Chair for the AM&AA Virtual Chapter and Co-Chair of the Pittsburgh Chapter.
What drives your passion for your work and the M&A industry?
I thrive on the dynamic nature of the M&A industry—the ability to create transformative opportunities for businesses, drive strategic growth, and navigate complex deals that shape business owners’ lives. There’s something incredibly fulfilling about bringing the right people together, structuring solutions that benefit all parties, and seeing the impact of a well-executed transaction unfold.
What’s one piece of advice you wish you had when starting out in the industry?
Help business owners see the path forward—whether it’s a deal or long-term growth—without overwhelming them. Early on, I focused a lot on the technical side of planning, but I’ve learned that breaking things down into simple, doable steps makes all the difference. Business owners are juggling a million things, so they need guidance that’s clear, actionable, and fits into their reality. Keeping things practical and focusing on momentum rather than perfection has been a game-changer.
What’s currently top of mind in your business?
M&A in 2025 is dealing with a lot of uncertainty. Governments are taking a closer look at cross-border deals, which is slowing approvals. Trade policies and tariffs are unpredictable, so businesses are adjusting their strategies and reassessing deal timelines and likelihood. Despite all this, deals are still getting done—and having the right team in place is more important than ever.
How has AM&AA membership supported your professional growth?
Earning my CM&AA certification significantly strengthened my technical skillset. It’s given me a deeper understanding of deal structures, valuation methodologies, and best practices, allowing me to approach transactions with more confidence and be a better partner to other M&A advisors on my team. One experience that stands out was at an AM&AA conference, where I unknowingly jumped ahead in line at DealConnect—only to meet someone who’s now a key partner in my business. It was a chance encounter that became one of the most impactful relationships I’ve built.
What kind of legacy or impact would you like to leave on the industry?
I hope to be known as someone who helped elevate M&A professionals by fostering stronger connections and advancing innovative strategies. If my work contributes to shaping a more collaborative, informed, and forward-thinking industry, then I’ll consider that a meaningful legacy.
